How can any thinking person not believe in some sort of God? Secularism is a religion, and they are pushing it. That wouldn't be a problem if it didn't dehumanize people who are deemed less "worthy" by virtue of their afflictions, or need of care, and the extermination of inconvenient and unwanted persons. There isn't room in their utpoic vision for needy people. A worldview needs to address all the questions of life. It isn't good enough to ignore the question of how we got here, and why.

I've been miserable, and I admit it, but I'm not always. I take tools I have and make my situation better. My father died, and my mother admitted she loved alcohol more than me, so I've been on my own since I was sixteen. I had to be self centered. I took care of my younger brother though, that means something. I'm only self centered when I need to be, and I wouldn't let my child die like that. *sigh* Such are the troubles of having BPD and a habit of cognitive dissonance; misunderstanding.

@sakinehbs Well it's not going to be easy, but it's something that needs to be done. I would recommend getting medication like zoloft, wellbutrin, and paxil for him. Ask him if he would like something like that. Try to be as warm as possible without showing any nerves or aggression. Pills should only be used in combination with cognitive therapy, otherwise it's just a bandaid for the reall problem.

I feel sorry for those with SAD. It is extremely hard to MOVE ON from something when you are told you have a disorder. Labeling it that way makes it seem like you HAVE to do something to move away from it......But it helps to think of it this way.... 1) Drop the label 2) You don't have to do anything about it. Instead...drop the label and focus on what makes you happy and your purpose. Then the anxiety "going away" will be a side effect of that and NOT the main focus.

yes it does ive had SAD for most of my life. But when i got into high school i joined cross country and felt so much better. Running and swimming are great ways to help with SAD cause you can clear your mind and you will be able to concentrate better. I recently became a vegan I eat organicaly and I feel so much better. I have so much more energy. SAD is something you have to work at and it takes time. but exercise and eating healthy can almost cure it.

Living with this really sucks....I tried to kill myself coz of it and was severly depressed for my last 2 years of high school. and it fucked up my exams...I failed my final school exams which meant I counld't go to college or anything. "lost opportunity". I never opened my mouth in school for 2 years...came home and hid in my room. ocassionally I would go out but could never make conversation as I can really only talk to close friends and family. If only I could just get on with my life...

Yeah I've suffered with SAD since I was 11 and now I'm 16. It really sucks as I haven't been to school in over a year and my schoolmates shun me due to my psychological state. At least this has motivated me to do A Level Psychology in order to help others whom also suffer.

secondly, i don't think that it is a privilege or a right. it is necessary but so are other things often times. a lot of people don't spend money on insurance when they do on non-necessary items. (although yes, many simply can't afford it either way) but if you can't afford medicine, don't go buy that new ipod or whatever. lastly, i don't have a problem with a public non-profit option but i don't think that it should be enforced in LAW.

True healthcare reform for the states will in no way resemble the UK healthcare system because private companies will still have too much free reign. Our system is by no means perfect, but the principles of it are morally sound. The NHS and the government can drive a hard bargain with drugs companies otherwise they have no access to the UK market so this is part of the reason healthcare here is much cheaper. Also, an investors profits are not considered when healthcare policy is made.

You can disagree with my "view" of the surplus all you want, but that doesn't change reality. That public debt(the deficit) never reached 0, much less a surplus. That intragovernmental borrowing was at higher amounts than public debt reduction, as was the growth of national debt. These are from US TREASURY numbers. So it's not my "view"; it's reality and no amount of "not agreeing" changes it. Republicans have their issues, but why don't you do your own work?

So in essence, the "surplus" was like using a credit card to pay down another, while using the second credit card for spending as well. And the last budget of the Clinton admin raised the deficit back to 133 billion. So not only was the "surplus" just political smoke and mirrors, it never even reached a neutral balance. There never was a surplus even though both parties say it. Democrats claim it to laud the Clinton administration. Republicans claim it because it was their policies. If you look at economic data, the deficit decreased to 17.91 billion, but never reached 0. The national debt, however, rose at a much higher rate because of intragoverment borrowing(borrowing from itself). That's not free money; it has to be repaid and it wasn't as the national debt rose. The "surplus" claim ignores that.

To add to what people are saying, businesses "don't pay taxes". I mean they cut the IRS a check, but it's not a savings like the rest of us. Taxes are factored in as business expenses and that ultimately falls on the consumer. So the business doesn't pay the taxes, you do. Ever wonder why your gas is so expensive?
